US Secretary of State Antony Blinken held talks with Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Friday that the United States and India intend to join forces to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Blinken, the partnership between the United States and India is strengthening and “becoming more productive.”
Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, who spent the past week in the United States seeking help in the fight against the coronavirus outbreak, said that India is grateful to America for its support and solidarity.
Blinken and Jaishankar also discussed assistance to Afghanistan.
India, the second-most populous country in the world, set an anti-record for the number of deaths from COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in May. Only about 3% of India’s 1.3 billion people are fully vaccinated, which is extremely low.
