The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a warning calling on air carriers to exercise “increased caution” when flying over Belarus, according to a press release.

It is noted that the air regulator urged airlines to “continue to exercise extreme caution until the management can conduct a more complete assessment of the actions of Belarus” in connection with the change in the direction of the flight of the passenger plane on May 23 and “the possibility of Belarus repeating similar actions in the future.” The regulator is “working closely with other” US agencies to determine whether any additional measures may be required. The FAA says it will review the report from the international investigation to “determine the risks to US passenger airlines.”
