American politicians will have to agree on a compromise version of the draft sanctions against “Nord stream-2.”
Representatives of the US House of Congress proposed to consider the bill, which involves the introduction of relaxed sanctions against the Russian gas pipeline “Nord stream-2.” The new version of the document provides for the abolition of restrictive measures against companies that are engaged in testing, inspection, and certification of an energy project. Also, the US congressmen proposed to abandon the entry into force of sanctions retroactively (since December last year).
It is specified that the new bill will be considered in parallel with the previous one, prepared by representatives of the Senate, the upper house of the US Parliament. Thus, American politicians will have to agree on a compromise version of the draft sanctions against “Nord stream-2.” It is expected that the final version of the bill will contain more lenient measures regarding the gas pipeline.
Earlier reported that US senators are developing a document suggesting the introduction of expanded sanctions against the Russian energy project.
