The U.S. White House said that so far there is “no reason to change” the level of readiness of nuclear forces after the order of Russian President Vladimir Putin to transfer the deterrent forces to a special mode of combat duty, Western media reported.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday at a meeting with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov ordered the transfer of deterrence forces to a special mode of combat duty. He noted that “senior officials of the leading NATO countries allow aggressive statements against our country.”

“The United States sees no “reason to change” the readiness levels of nuclear forces at the moment,” the Reuters news Agency said in a statement, citing the White House.
