US President Joe Biden will meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin when the time is right. This was announced on Friday by the Deputy Press Secretary of the White House, Karine Jean-Pierre, onboard the presidential plane, which is heading to the state of Georgia. The White House press pool distributed a recording of the briefing.
“People are asking when President Biden will meet with President Putin. President Biden will meet with President Putin when the time is right. President Biden and President Putin have different views on their countries. But they agree that we should continue to look for ways to work together where it is in our mutual interests,” she said.
Jean-Pierre cited the example of the Russian-American Treaty on Measures for the Further Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms (START-3), which was extended in February.
