The WHO called a simple way to escape from COVID-19 mutations

Vaccination is the only way to protect yourself from coronavirus mutations, Melita Vujnovich, the representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Russia, told.

“With high immunization coverage, the number of hospitalizations and people in intensive care units decreases,” she stressed.

According to Vujnovich, the delta strain has almost displaced alpha in terms of distribution. Specialists continue to monitor the situation with the possible displacement of the “lambda” strain.

“Lambda” is a strain of coronavirus that was discovered in Peru in 2020. In July of this year, the WHO reported its spread in more than 30 countries, mainly South and North America.

According to virologists, this type of coronavirus has increased contagiousness. In this regard, the WHO recalled the need to be vaccinated.
