The organization’s experts are checking information about side effects that have appeared in some vaccinated patients.
Experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) are currently studying the AstraZeneca vaccine after some countries suspended its distribution.
This was announced on Friday by a spokeswoman for the organization, Margaret Harris.
Earlier, health authorities in several countries, including Denmark, Norway, and Iceland, suspended using the AstraZeneca vaccine after reports of blood clots in some vaccinated patients.
At a briefing in Geneva, Harris said a causal link between vaccination and health problems had not been established. The pause in the distribution of the vaccine was called a “precautionary measure” by the WHO.
According to Harris, the organization recommends continuing the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine. However, messages related to side effects will be investigated.
The WHO stressed that a report would be prepared based on the results of the audit.
