This estimate does not include the growing economic costs of the war.

The physical damage caused to Ukraine’s buildings and infrastructure as a result of the Russian invasion has reached approximately $60 billion and will grow as the war continues.

This was stated by the President of the World Bank, David Malpass.

Speaking at a World Bank conference on Ukraine’s financial assistance needs, Malpass said that the preliminary “narrow” damage assessment does not include the growing economic costs of the war for Ukraine.

“Of course, the war continues, so these costs are rising,” Malpass said.
