He already held this position under President Obama.

The Senate confirmed Tom Vilsack as Secretary of Agriculture in the Joe Biden administration, returning him to the post he held for eight years under President Barack Obama.

A former governor of Iowa, Vilsack, was confirmed in the office by 92 votes in favor to 7 against.

Debbie Stabenow, Chair of the Senate Agriculture Committee, said Vilsack’s “deep understanding of agriculture and rural America is more needed today than ever.”
