Trading on the New York Stock Exchange opened on Friday with the growth of key indices. This is evidenced by the data posted on the website of the trading platform.
The Dow Jones industrial Average rose by 288.09 points (0.87%) to 33,462.16 points in the first minutes of trading. The S&P 500 index gained 28.22 points (0.66%), rising to 4,287.74 points. The NASDAQ electronic exchange index rose by 74.14 points (0.56%) to 13,204.10 points.
On Thursday, at the closing of the stock exchanges, key U.S. indices fell by 1.14-1.39% amid rising inflation and energy prices caused by the situation around Ukraine and sanctions imposed by Western countries against Russia.
The Wall Street Journal newspaper notes that the growth of indices began even before the opening of exchanges, during futures trading, after the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin that “there are certain positive developments” in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
