The US President Donald Trump said in an interview with the Sunday Times that the UK should not pay the EU 39 billion pounds (50 billion dollars) for “Brexit”.
“I wouldn’t pay,” Trump said.
Britain should leave the EU without a deal if Brussels does not accept the terms of London, the American leader added. “If you don’t get the agreement you want, just walk away,” Trump said. He also urged to send to the negotiations the leader of Brexit Nigel Farage.
The US President added that it is not too late for London to take his advice.
British Prime Minister Theresa May will leave a post on June 7. The main contender for the post of head of government is the former Foreign Minister Boris Johnson. He has already stated that the United Kingdom will leave the EU on October 31 in any case.
Britain was to withdraw from the EU on March 29, but Parliament repeatedly rejected May’s proposal under the terms of the withdrawal agreement. London received a delay from Brussels until April 12, and then until October 31. The parties must develop a mutually acceptable agreement that will smooth the consequences of “Brexit”.
