Trump called the fugitive ex-president of Afghanistan a “fraudster”

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has said that he has always considered Afghan leader Ghani Ashraf Ghani a “fraudster” who will leave his country even before the last American soldier leaves there.

“He was a fraud, and now, I believe, he left with a lot of money. I said that he is not a leader, that he will escape earlier than the last (American) soldiers, and that’s exactly how it turned out,” Trump said in an interview with NewsmaxTV.

Ghani, a former U.S. citizen, explained his hasty departure from Afghanistan, where the Taliban movement seized power, with the desire to avoid bloodshed. When he appeared in the United Arab Emirates, he denied that he had taken away large amounts of capital with him and promised to return to his homeland in the future.
