The ex-president stressed the need to force Europe and others to pay a fair share.
Former American President Donald Trump expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that the EU states allocate significantly less funds to help Ukraine than the United States. The corresponding statement of the Republican was distributed by his press service.
“Why do we allocate more than $40 billion to Ukraine, while Europe gives very little in comparison?” Trump asked. “Make Europe and others pay their fair share,” he stressed. According to Trump, during his presidential term, he “enriched NATO by forcing European countries to pay” their share to maintain the alliance’s collective defense. “Most of them did not pay at all or paid significantly less than they should,” the former head of the White House noted.
