US President Donald Trump on Tuesday completed a state visit to Japan and left the country. The departure of the American leader was shown live on Japanese national TV channels.
On Tuesday, the President of the United States Donald Trump and the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe, together with their wives visited one of Japan’s largest warships — the helicopter carrier “Kaga” on the basis of Japanese self-defense forces Yokosuka, reported the TV channel NHK. “Kaga” will soon be converted into a light aircraft carrier, and then take on Board combat aircraft F-35, purchased from the United States.
“For the first time, the leaders of the two countries together welcome the servicemen of both countries,” Mr. Abe said. He added that the Union of the United States and Japan “have achieved great power,” and the joint presence on the “Kaga” is a sign of his strength. Mr. Trump noted that the transformation of the helicopter carrier into an aircraft carrier will serve to strengthen the Alliance of the countries. “Japan will have the largest group of F-35 fighters among our allies,” US President said.

Mr. Trump and his wife Melania Trump arrived in Japan on May 25. The state visit, which lasted until May 28, was the longest visit of the American President to Japan since 1992.
