In July 2021, the Trump Organization was charged with tax evasion, involvement in fraud, theft of property and forgery of documents.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has paid a fine of $110,000 for contempt of court. This was reported on Friday by the Associated Press, citing data from the office of the Attorney General of the state of New York, Letitia James.

The payment was made last Thursday. At the same time, it is noted that Trump “must submit additional documents” in order not to renew the court decision ordering the ex-president to pay a $10,000 fine every day.

In early April, James announced her intention to bring Trump to justice in the case of alleged financial fraud in the Trump Organization company owned by him. The New York Attorney General complained that Trump, despite the prosecutor’s office’s demand and the court’s order, refused to provide the documents requested from him as part of the ongoing investigation. The court ordered Trump to pay $10,000 daily for contempt of court.

Subsequently, this decision was suspended after the defense of the ex-president submitted some of the requested documents to the prosecutor’s office. At the same time, the court ordered him to pay $ 110 thousand – the amount of the fine that had accumulated since the end of April, while the former owner of the White House did not provide the materials necessary for the investigation.
