Trump will require Biden to pass a drug test

The Republican President is slightly behind the democratic rival in opinion polls.

President Donald Trump said that he would require Democratic presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden to take a drug test before or after their debate on Tuesday. Trump suggested that Biden’s uneven performance at previous political debates this year was because he was under the influence of drugs.

The unusual accusation was made by Trump, not for the first time, while he is lagging behind Biden in national polls. Trump faces the prospect of becoming the third US President in the last 40 years to fail to win re-election to a second term.

“I will strongly demand that Sleepy Joe take a drug test before or after Tuesday night’s debate,” Trump said on Twitter. – Of course, I will agree to take this test myself. His performance at the debate was, to put it mildly, the record is uneven. Only drugs can cause such a discrepancy.”

Last month, Trump said: “I mean, you’ve seen this debate with a large number of participants on stage. He was… I even said: “How is it possible that he can go further?” In truth, his best performance was against Bernie. By the way, we will be calling for a drug test because his best performance was against Bernie.”

“You can’t say he was Winston Churchill because he wasn’t, but it was a normal, boring debate,” Trump concluded. If you go back and watch some of these many debates, it was so bad. He couldn’t even speak coherently. And in the case of Bernie, he could.”

The 74-year-old Trump often questioned the 77-year-old Biden’s sharpness of mind.

But Biden has just as often laughed off Trump’s accusations, saying he will outperform him in the debate.

“Look at me. Watch me, Mr. President,” Biden told ABC News. – Look at what we say, what we do, what we control, what we know, what shape we are in”.

At the same time, Biden acknowledged that these are “reasonable questions” about the mental state that should be asked of both candidates.

In an interview with Baden’s wife, Jill, which aired on CNN, she said: He’s ready. I look forward to seeing Joe Biden on this stage. They will see what the President looks like. A person, who is calm, balanced, strongly, hardy.”

According to Jill Biden, the two candidates differ like “day and night.”

“I can’t wait for the American people to see Joe, to see this statesman in front of the American public,” she said.
