Washington continues to curtail Ankara’s participation in the program for the production and use of new generation aircraft.
Turkish F-35 pilots no longer fly at the US air base in Arizona. The statement was made against the background of Washington’s curtailment of Ankara’s participation in the program for the production of new generation fighters because of Turkey’s plans to acquire Russian air defense assets.
“The Department knows that the Turkish pilots … do not fly,” said Pentagon spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Mike Andrews. – “Without a change in relations with Turkey, we will continue to cooperate with our ally in curtailing its participation in the F-35 program.”
