The Chinese company UBTECH Robotics has presented a prototype of the anthropomorphic home robot Walker X. The developers have published a video demonstration on their YouTube channel.
The device uses 41 servomotors for movement. The robot has full-fledged hands with fingers that allow it to perform tasks using fine motor skills. Also, the engineers made it extremely stable by equipping it with a dynamic balancing system, so even a ball hit cannot knock it down.
Walker X travels at a maximum speed of 3 km/h. When moving, the robot uses depth cameras to avoid collisions with people and objects. The height and weight of the device are unknown.
Also, the developers have equipped it with a communications system. He will be able to communicate with the owners in two ways – through the speech synthesis system and facial expressions. In the second case, the device will be able to express 28 types of emotions.
