British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said that attacks on civilians during the Russian invasion of Ukraine should be investigated as war crimes.

She added that the UK would fully support the relevant decision of the International Criminal Court.

In a distributed statement, Truss points out that as Russian troops retreat, “we see more and more evidence of the terrible actions of the invading forces in cities such as Irpen and Bucha.”

She called for “indiscriminate attacks against defenseless civilians during the illegal and unjustified invasion of Ukraine” to be investigated as war crimes.

Russia has previously declared that it does not attack civilian targets and denied accusations of committing war crimes.
