Ukraine shares “great hope” for Biden’s visit to the country

Kyiv hopes for a visit by US President Joe Biden in 2021, the head of the office of the Ukrainian leader, Andriy Yermak, said after a meeting between Vladimir Zelensky and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken arrived in Ukraine on Thursday. He met with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba. Many topics were discussed, including the situation in the Donbas, the implementation of reforms in Ukraine, as well as energy issues. The head of the US State Department was the first representative of the Biden administration to visit Ukraine.

According to the Facebook page of the President’s office, Yermak recalled that 2021 is a special year for Ukraine because the state is celebrating the 30th anniversary of independence.

“Therefore, there is a great hope to see President Biden in Ukraine this year,” Yermak said.

At the same time, he clarified that there is no specific date for the meeting between Zelensky and Biden yet.
