US Department of Energy: the US sets record for LNG exports since 2016

The absolute record of 10.5 billion cubic feet per day was reached by LNG exports from the United States in March, Free News reports with reference to the monthly short-term forecast of the Energy Information Administration (EIA) of the Ministry of Energy of the country.

“LNG exports from the United States set an absolute record in March 2021 at 10.5 billion cubic feet per day and averaged 9.2 billion cubic feet per day in April – the highest export of liquefied natural gas for these months since the United States became exporters in 2016,” the agency quotes the text of the document.

The text of the forecast of the US Department of Energy states that last year and in January of this year, most of the LNG exports from the United States fell on the Asian market.

However, in February and March, most of it was sent to the European market, as on spot prices reached a level close to the spot prices for natural gas in the Asian region.
