The vaccination must be done before September 19, 2021.

The authorities of the American capital are introducing mandatory vaccination against coronavirus for local officials. This was announced on Tuesday by the mayor of Washington, Muriel Bowser.

“[Passing] vaccination against COVID-19 will be required from all employees of the government of the Metropolitan District of Columbia who work in structures accountable to the mayor,” she wrote on Twitter. These persons must be vaccinated by September 19, 2021.

As NBC explains, the reason for refusing vaccination may be medical indications or religious beliefs. Officials who have not been vaccinated will be obliged to take tests for coronavirus once a week.
