The Emergency Committee of the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended that countries vaccinate at least 10% of the population against coronavirus by September of this year.

“Interim recommendations to the Member States… implement the WHO call for action so that at least 10% of the population of all countries will be vaccinated by September 2021. To protect vulnerable groups of the population from the emergence and spread of SARS CoV-2 variants, it is necessary to strengthen global solidarity,” the recommendations published following the meeting of the WHO committee say.

The WHO Committee also stressed that vaccination programs should cover vulnerable groups of the population, including seafarers and flight crews.
