At the end of March, Xiaomi introduced its first foldable smartphone Mi Mix Fold. However, the manufacturer is not going to stop there and is preparing new models. Images of one of them were found in a patent application at WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization).

The patent images show a foldable smartphone similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Moto Razr 5G. That is, it is a “clamshell” that folds in half, turning into a small “powder box”.

Among the features of the gadget is a horizontal module on the back, which houses two large camera sensors and, most likely, an additional display with a small diagonal that can display the time, date, incoming calls, and messages.

You can also consider a dual selfie camera (possibly one sensor and a flash), a volume rocker and a power button on the right, a USB Type-C port, and a SIM card slot at the bottom. There is no 3.5mm audio jack. The phone itself looks rather thin, so you shouldn’t rely on a capacious battery.

Since this is a design patent, there is no specification information available at this time. Anyway, it is not known whether Xiaomi will bring this idea to life.
