Just a few days ago, the JEDEC Solid State Technology Association adopted the LPDDR5X fast RAM standard, and the Chinese media are already reporting that Xiaomi will adopt the new version.
According to rumors, one of the first LPDDR5X will receive the future flagships Xiaomi Mi 12, which will most likely be presented early next year. As a reminder, LPDDR5X increases the maximum data transfer rate from 6400 Mbps to 8,533 Mbps, which is twice that of LPDDR4X.
In addition, the Xiaomi Mi 12 family (of course, not all versions) is credited with the new top-end Snapdragon 898 processor, which has not even been officially announced yet – its release will take place only at the end of the year.
Rumors also add a 200-megapixel camera and 200 W fast charging to the Mi 12’s arsenal, but it’s far from the fact that all this will be confirmed. While such information should be treated with doubt, we expect more reliable leaks towards the end of the year.
