A month ago, Xiaomi announced MIUI 12.5 for Mi 8, and now the system has been released for other devices from this line.
The update was released for Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 8 SE and Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition with build numbers V12.5.1.0.QECCNXM, V12.5.1.0.QEBCNXM and V12.5.1.0.QEHCNXM respectively. Users of Chinese versions of devices can already download the firmware. In other regions, the system should appear a little later.
If we talk about the list of changes, then the devices received all the main innovations of MIUI 12.5. That is, an updated interface, improved animations, new live wallpapers, more system nature sounds, improved privacy, and much more.
As a reminder, the Xiaomi Mi 8 line entered the market in 2018 with MIUI 9 and Android 8.1 Oreo. Since then, the devices have received MIUI 10, MIUI 11 and MIUI 12, as well as Android 9.0 Pie and Android 10. Given the timing of the update of Xiaomi smartphones, MIUI 12.5 is the latest major firmware for devices.
