YouTube said it would immediately block access to channels linked to Russian state media.

As stated in the statement of the video hosting on Twitter, the reason for this decision was the “guidelines” prohibiting “downplaying” the significance of documented “violent events.”

“Now we are blocking access to YouTube channels associated with Russian state media around the world,” the message says. The change takes effect “immediately.”

In addition, YouTube will remove content about a special operation to demilitarize Ukraine, which “violates” the video hosting policy.

Earlier, Youtube disabled premium subscription in Russia, and subsequently all monetization methods on the platform.
