President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelenskiy said he was still ready for direct talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
“I remain firmly and resolutely determined, whether I want it or not, to have direct talks with President Putin if we are ready to seriously discuss the end of this war,” Zelenskiy said in a video interview with the British newspaper Financial Times published on Tuesday on the publication’s website.
At the same time, according to him, “it is not worth wasting time” on discussing with Moscow issues that do not concern the end of the conflict, including the possible entry of Ukraine into the North Atlantic Alliance. “If we are not in NATO, then there are no bases of foreign states on our territory.
