Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has arrived on a working visit to Washington. He will meet with U.S. President Joe Biden on September 1, the press service of the office of the head of the Ukrainian state reported on Tuesday.
Earlier, Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Makarova said that Zelensky would stay in Washington on August 31 and September 1. He will go to California, where he is scheduled to meet with American businessmen.
“Zelensky and First Lady Elena Zelenskaya arrived in Washington as part of the working visit of the head of the Ukrainian state to the United States of America at the invitation of U.S. President Joseph Biden. The visit agenda includes meeting the leaders of the two countries in a one-on-one format and an expanded composition of delegations,” the message reads.
According to the press service, some important meetings of Zelensky with American officials will also take place. As planned, representatives of Ukraine and the United States will sign some documents. The visit program is designed for several days and will cover a number of cities on the East and West coasts of the United States.
