Volodymyr Zelenskiy khaki jacket went under the hammer at the Christie’s London charity auction for 90 thousand pounds (110 thousand dollars), the Telegraph newspaper writes.

At the same time, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson suggested that the value of the lot should be much higher than the starting price of 50,000 pounds, and urged bidders to “spend big,” the newspaper notes.

Zelenskiy himself made a speech via video link before the start of the auction, praising the UK and the “brave Boris” who visited him in Kyiv.

Other lots were also put up for auction, including a jug with a cockerel presented to Johnson during his walk with Zelenskiy in the Ukrainian capital, and a tour of Kyiv with the mayor of the city, Wladimir Klitschko.

It is noted that the proceeds are planned to be used for humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
